hey guys, by default this setting was enabled, should it be disabled? does it add any overhead on the router?
-
WPA (or any encoding for that matter) adds some overhead.
-
so i should disable it right? do u guys have it disabled?
i have another question, under the ADVANCED tab in Advanced wireless, there is a setting called EXTRA WIRELESS PROTECTION, should that be disabled? i was told though that that setting is active in N ONLY mode anyway so even tho its checked its not active, should i uncheck it anyway or just leave it?
-
someone please?

Mine is unchecked.
From the Help:
Extra Wireless Protection:
Extra protection for neighboring 11b wireless networks. Turn this option off to reduce the adverse effect of legacy wireless networks on 802.11ng performance. This option is available only when 802.11 Mode is set to an 11n Only option
