OK,, I upgraded from a dgl 4300 to a dir 655, now here is the issue,, (there are many):
I cannot see other computers on MY network (there are 5)
My WII will longer work with CONNECT 24.., all else is fine
During extended connections the router decides to take a break until a reconnection command is issued by the program.
File sharing is only obtained after turning off the firewall on all computers. (this was not an issue before) and this is intermittent at best.
I know you will ask for more info so here goes:
Main computer:
XP Pro
Hard wired
ESET Antivirus and firewall
Second Computer:
VISTA Home Premium
Wireless: DWA?-130
F-secure Antivirus and firewall
Other computers:
confidential
WII:
Standard
WPA on all
Suggestions?
Thanks

Start by turning off your AV and firewalls...

I do not see how that would make a difference when all was working before with the old router.
-
Your firewall software recognises the new router as a new network.
So you have to set all or most Exceptions new in firewall.
-
Yep, that's one of the most common causes of connectivity issues

OK,, guess again,, I did enough playing and it was... <drum roll> the MTU rate in the router.
Dummy me feels like a novice.. I had optimized it in the old router and not done it in this one... guess the grey is starting to show.. lol
Thanks for the help though guys.
