I recently switched to DSL and wanted to upgrade my router. I chose a DIR-655 to handle the work to hopefully, one day, stream movies and media. All of my computers (2x desktops, both XP; and 2x laptops, XP &Win7) could see each other with my old Linksys router. At the new house, they all have internet connections but can not see each other to share drives and files.
A PING test reveals that all the wireless computers can see all wireless items (laptops and printer) but no LAN computers. Both LAN computers can see ALL the wireless computers and printers but not the other LAN computer.
What am I missing in my router configuration?
Also my DISH VIP-722K DVR tries to pull an IP with no luck. Any ideas?
Any help would be great!
Thanks.

You might want to give some of your current settings, there are plenty of settings that could be the culprit. So please give us some more info.

I just reset the router to factory defaults. The set up the secure wireless and a password otherwise that is it. I did mess woth the QOS setting and the DNS settings before and my Win7 laptop was able to see the computers but not access them. Then I had a driver conflict and had to resolve that.
Hardware Ver. A4 and Firmware Ver. 1.21
Any particular settings I should share to help figure this out?

PLease set the device without security first. You can add that later.
If your DSL modem is giving out IP's (DHCP), disable DHCP on your DIR (http://<router ip>/Basic/Network.shtml

No change. All computers still have internet and PING test results the same. VIP-722k (DVR) still won't pull an IP as well. >:(

Some PVR's or mediaplayers need to be set to static. Or you can increase the DHCP polling interval.
