Title: Until I install drives - can I use the 323 just as a network print server
Post by: WillyK on January 08, 2010, 01:48:19 PM
Just picked up a DNS-323.

While I plan to drop in a couple of drives (Raid 1 setup) to act as a common storage drop for my home network; that's a couple of weeks down the road.  After all, Christma$ just passed   ;)

In the meantime, can I power it up, plug it in, etc. and run it WITHOUT drives?  Just to take advantage of the network print server functionality?

Thanks in advance.

No - it will only work with a drive installed.
DNS-323 uses the HD for printqueue.
