but i don't really want to do that. I NEVER had the problems i'm having with the 655 with my older dgl 4300. it took a dump on me, so therefore i figured i would make an upgrade. i could have just bought a new dgl 4300. first it's streaming wirelessly, and now this thing has random disconnects through wired as well. on my comp, my ps3, the xbox 360 we have the in the house...all wired...it doesn't happen often, but when it does, such a pain. can anyone recommend me a different router? other than the dgl4300 or anything dlink in general...which router has the best reviews at a low expense?

I just did the same thing this morning ! my DIR 655 never worked correctly after changing firmware updating changing setting over and over again I am finally free ! no more D LINK !!!

i've tried the beta firmware, and it WAS working a lot better than the other. today, i've had three drops in my connection. man, i swear...i've owned two dlink routers and never had this much nonsense happen. i can't remember the model number of my first dlink, but i do remember the awesomeness of the dgl 4300. i think i'm about to go the linksys route. i hate saying that because dlink has been good to me with other routers. there is only so much bs i can take
