when i use a wireless connection with this router i get 100mbps, but through wireless i only get 54mbps? i attempted to find help through other threads and generic questions but haven't found anything useful. is there any way i can get more speed through wireless without having to use a wired connection?
p.s. i have the most current firmware.

54MB/sec is the maximum speed using Wireless G.
It all looks to be good.
If you want something faster on the wireless side of this, go "N".

Please do take note, if your going to use a wireless-N router you should use the same (wireless-N) adapter for your computer.
If you will just use a wireless-g adapter, the maximum speed you will just received is 54Mbps for your wireless connection.
Hope it helps,
