I have firmware 1.0 and hardware A-1. I downloaded the latest (132NA) firmware, extracted it, and logged into my router to try and upgrade. I received a message that says I might not be logged on as Admin (I was) or that my router might be too busy, finally saying the gateway will not be updated. I tried several other versions of firmware, and had the same results with all of them.
Any ideas?
Thanks very much for any help.

You should try and save your settings and then do a software reset, then a hardware reset, then try flashing again.

If your at 1.0 you may need to do the update incrementaly 1.01,1.02 etc. I think once you get to 110 you can go to 1.2 and up without doing them incrementaly.
Here is the direct link to all the firmwares:

First off, thank you both for taking the time to reply.
I tried the software/hardware reset and that didn't help. I then tried the incremental upgrade path (strange) starting with 1.01 and upgrading all the way to 132NA, and it DID work. Thanks very much, again.

He thinks he's fixed his problems... he'll be back with new ones if he made it to 1.32NA. :(

Or not, like most users ;D

Again, thanks very much for your time in replying, I DO appreciate the help. (Especially since it worked!) Is there a firmware version (beta?) that you recommend more so than 132NA? I'm using the wireless primarily to stream Netflix videos on an Xbox 360.

There is a new beta that was just released.
133 beta (ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655/Beta/Firmware/dir655_fw_133b01NA_beta.zip)

1.33b01NA installed fine. The router seems more responsive in regards to accessing the menu options pages. Logging doesn't work anymore, but it's OK though, it is beta after all...
update: Logging does work!!! Call it operator error ;)
