Title: DSM-750 stops playback after one song
Post by: tjp on January 15, 2010, 06:06:37 PM
Just setup my DSM-750 and am having an issue where it stops playback after one song through "My Media".  I noticed that while the one song plays to the end, but the timer gets stuck around 3 minutes.

I have a DSM-520 and folders/playlists are playing fine there, so it seems to be an issue with the 750.

Any help is appreciated.

Don't know if this will help.

1.  Open task manager.
2.  Click on the "Processes" tab.
3.  Find "MediaGUI.exe"
4.  Right click on "MediaGUI.exe" and select "End Process Tree". (This will completely stop the D-Link Media Server)
5.  Restart the Media Server by clicking on the D-Link Media Server icon on your desktop or Start menu.

I have found this works for all kinds of screw ups with the 520 and 750.

I have also found that restarting my wireless router (which is a D-Link DIR 655) can help sometimes.

Are you running the D-Link Media Server application or have your tried others such as Tversity or just using Windows Media Player 11 or 12?

Sorry, I should have posted this earlier, the music is stored on my HP MediaSmart Server EX495.

I just finished playing the music off a thumbdrive with no issues.

I'm beginning to think that there may be an interface problem between the server and the 750 that doesn't exist with the 520.
