No way of knowing what's in their mind over there. :) From the contents of the archive, it is clearly a beta release.
-
From looking at the release notes it is version 1.08b9 which is a version of the beta that hasn't been mentioned yet in the release notes sticky at the top of this forum.
Hopefully someone from D-Link can shed some light on this one?

hello - they ARE 6 hours ahead of us...

Since it's been there for weeks, I doubt that figures into this conversation.

Want more mysteries ?
D-Link Taiwan also released the 1.08b08 on their official download site.

To be honest, I could not understand all what is written there :)

I'm having a bit of problem with this line: *請注意, 更新韌體時間約需3~5分鐘, 韌體更新期間請切勿關閉DNS-323電源及網路連結,以免韌體更新失敗造成設備故障無法使用。
Perhaps you can translate. :o ;D ;D

Chinese to English (http://babelfish.yahoo.com)
Please note, the renewal firmware time approximately needs 3~5 minutes, firmware reproducting periods please be sure not to close the DNS-323 power source and the network links, in order to avoid the firmware renewal defeat causes the equipment failure to be unable to use.

Station-Drivers show that 1.08 is final... http://www.station-drivers.com/page/dlink.htm
CORRECTION: It is 1.08b9 - still beta. It is the same as the one posted on UK site.
If you look at the UK site, they are using previous beta as well... so I guess it is OK to flash?

What D-Link is doing here is getting ridiculous... Even for (banana) software this time for beta testing is quite unusual.
Whatever, I'm running 1.08b9 since more than a month now and it's rock stable. To be precise, the last "official" FW 1.07 exhibited more bugs - at least on my box - than the present beta (if it really still is one...).

Can't agree with you more...beta testing something like this, when 9 months ago (or so) they said "30 days" is really weird.
Then this Beta nonsense b1, b2, b3......b9. UK says this ... and other company sites says something else. Some project manager or company exec needs to get their sh!t together over there and stop this circus.
At any rate, I am done with D-Link products....
