So, I got my RMA replacement the other day, It was labeled: HW A3, FW 1.10
To my surprise, it was already preloaded with FW 1.32b09NA (well, it was dated 11/05/09, so I'm assuming).
I go to set it up anyway, and while I'm setting it up, it constantly resets!! Seriously... what the heck is goin on?
I called their "tech support" zombie, and they offerred to walk me through setting it up or I can call the RMA dept and ask for another one. He did say that I can request to have the old 1.10 firmware as a replacment though. Thats interesting...
So, now I'm pretty ticked. All you guys have hit the nail on the head: I think DLINK really screwed up with their 1.3x firmwares, and you can't go back.
This is really stupid.

My original unit, after a power glitch, started acting up. Thinking maybe the firmware could be messed up, I updated the firmware to 1.21, didn't make a difference. I tried official 1.3x and it didn't work either.
It would constantly reset and drop all connections.
Finally, I tried the 1.32b09NA and it seems to be stable, everything but the wifi. The wifi still drops all the connections every 30 seconds. So...
A- Its damaged
B- It appears the last 1.32 FW helped.
C- It appears that the Firmware in general is touchy and flakey.
I got a replacement, and they sent me the same unit with 1.32b09NA already loaded. This new replacement seems to be just as bad as mine after the power glitch. I can't even configure it for 30 seconds before it resets itself.
So, not sure what the deal is, but now I have to call them again, and see if I can get another one, with the original 1.10 firmware or something. This is really a huge waste of time.

There is a newer firmware that was just released and is seems to have solved some peoples issues.
133bn01NA (ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655/Beta/Firmware/dir655_fw_133b01NA_beta.zip)

Yah, tried the 1.33 on replacement unit that is still fully resetting randomly. It takes about 3 tries to get the firmware loaded becuase it sometimes resets while loading the firmware before it finishes.
So, I tried 1.33 and nothing changed. Thats when tech support asked to go back to 1.31.
Still nothing changed, so I called yesterday during business hours, and was on the phone for 45 minutes with a guy who kept putting me on hold while he "figured" out what to do. By the time he was done and we got back to my issue: I've tried everything you guys asked, the replacement unit is useless, send me another one, he tells me that now the California office is closed, to call back tomorrow. great....
I hate outsourced tech support.

Which browser are you using to upload the firmware and what are the security setting?
