Title: Western Digital 2TB compatibility
Post by: beefy314 on January 21, 2010, 05:36:18 AM
Are the WD20EARS compatible with the DNS 323 on firmware 1.08?

I'm looking at the 2tb model with 64mb cache.

I only see the 16mb EADS listed as tested

I've got 2 WD20EADS-00S2B0 2TB drives in mine, have had since 1.07 and it's fine.

I think the supported list is just that - what DLink have tested and support.  Having 2 of these in my NAS with mirroring makes me feel safe enough that if anything happens to one drive, I have the other.  No different to a normal mirror drive solution.....

Hope this is of some help, even if it doesn't answer your question.

Beefy, did you end up going with these drives?  I am having major issues attempting to get them working with my DNS-323, looking for some guidance.   ???
