Title: Log?
Post by: kellergj64 on January 23, 2010, 11:53:16 PM
What is the purpose of a log that only shows startups and logins? Why don't scans and tests and results get logged? Why don't any of the RAID 5 errors get logged? Would that information be to incriminating for D-Link?

The tests, fails, and scans are provided via email alert The log displays only the system basic details. Why would it be incriminating for D-Link if this info was available in the log as well its provided to you in email?

SMTP over SSL is not supported. I have no idea what is E-mailed. I wouldn't want to piece together many E-mails to create a log anyway. I assume that logging firmware RAID errors would result in excessive log sizes. The reliability of the RAID 5 makes this product useless.

I would recommend gmail for this device.
