When i activate QoS by Lan port, my Xbox (version 1.0) can no longer communicaite with other machines (in the same subnet), that are hardwired to the 1522 gigabit switch.
Any suggestions ?
-
Which firmware version is installed ?
This is an old issue.
I had this behavior with 1.20 - never tested it with 1.21 again as all worked fine without QoS.
If it still persists with 1.21 - disable QoS.

it's set up as a wireless bridge that connects to my DIR-825 which is not running as a router either

So DAP-1522 is connected via wireless bridge to you DIR-825:
By Default DAP-1522: 192.168.0.50
By Default DIR-825: 192.168.0.1
What is the 825 connected to if it is acting as an AP? Also do you have DHCP disabled on the 825 if you are using this as an AP?
If you disable QoS on the 1522 does your 360 start to communicate with other machines on your network?

correct
all my gear is now on 192.168.1.x, and ip's are all different than what you mention FWIW.
825 (2 hops later) is connected to commercial firewall which is also the router.
QOS has no bearing on my ability to communicate with other devices, it just makes connection slower and less reliable.

Does the 825 have DHCP disbaled if you're using it as an AP?
Also what radio are you using to connect to the 1522? (2.4 or 5Ghz)?
And What Encryption type?

yes, DHCP is disabled
both bands are enabled, but 1522 is running n only / 5ghz

Try logging into the 1522 and do another site survey and try connecting to the SSID you configured on the AP. The re-enter in the wireless key. I've noticed it not connect if you dont manually type in the key.
Also see if you enetered in a gateway address in the 1522

so to be clear, my system works fine now.
i just don't trust QOS/WISH as they FUBAR'd on last try
