Title: Always have the Raid Config screen, no uPnP available
Post by: weathejx on January 24, 2010, 02:01:16 PM
I have a 343 running 1.03 with 4 1TB drives in it.  bays 1-3 are configured in a raid 5 (Volume_1) with bay 4 by itself (Volume_3), see below for info (Apdx1&2).

I pulled out the spare to use it elsewhere and then returned it.  after returning it, my raid had degraded, so I rebuilt it.  No problems so far.  I still have Volume1 and Volume3 showing and can get to all the data, but each time I log into the 343, it presents me with the Harddrive Configuration Wizard and asks me to pick a raid config (Apdx3).  I hit skip and everything seems fine.  I go to my uPnP page to refresh it, and all the buttons are grayed out.  Itunes server buttons are also grayed out.

I assume this is because some portion of the admin software is recognizing that the drives are configured and other portions arent.  Any way to set the drives manually so uPnP etc is available again?

Thanks,

john.

Did you previously have a Volume_2? I would Reset the unit to factory defaults and see what you come up with on the next boot. This will not affect the data on the drive only the unit configuration.

Nope.  Never had a Volume_2.  I reset the unit (and had to reset the IP, etc.  ugh) but the drive config still comes up every time.

Drive shares still exist but the uPnP is still broken.

Have any other ideas?

Thanks,

john.

bump.

ive tried taking out the drives, putting them back in, flashing the firmware, resetting to default...

nothing seems to work but the share drives are still there but aren't being recognized by the firmware.

help.

You stated you pulled the drive out to use it elsewhere. Is this when the issue occurred and what did you use the drive for?
