Title: Can't access my data -links are broken but
Post by: Warpdrv on January 25, 2010, 09:08:14 AM
Firmware 1.04 I think

When I log into the admin acct gui and select a share for a user I can see the folders, but the thing just freaks out...   and won't let me continue. I can't see the root directory just network links.

any suggestions to steps I can get access to my data before I dump this unit...  I want to get the data and transfer it to newly built 40tb server I just built...    Nothing dire or extremely important, but some stuff I would like to get back...

Would you suggest I upgrade the firmware and create a new acct or what ?

Thanks for any help guys...

:)

To the best of my knowledge - data cannot be accessed through the admin GUI - which is what you seem to be attempting to do....

Or am I missing something?

No I am trying to access it over the network, and I can see network links but it will not allow me to access the data....

But I can see when I am in the admin GUI that if I hunt around in there and creat a share for a user, I can see that all the folders are still there...

Then it freaks out.....  and won't let me create that share - for any user.

I wonder if a backdoor approach of using the FTP server might work to get the data off the drive?

tried that.....   no luck...

updated the firmware and gained access to the files I really needed, but the thing kept lockin up with pink lights, shut down and restarted about 5 time to get all the files I needed....

I took the drives out and tossed them in my mega server for a small Raid 0, alongside the Raid 6, and their workin great.

I think it needs a full reset and a new setup with some fresh drives.
