Title: Hope I can get help with old DSM-G600 Network Storage device please!
Post by: hotkey on January 25, 2010, 05:28:49 PM
I have a single file (out of thousands) that I can't delete.  I am accessing the drive from a Windows 7 laptop.

Can anyone suggest hoe to get the file deleted?  Can I FTP in to the unit?  I know the ip address but an anonymous FTP in wont connect.

Thanks.

If you have fun_plug installed, you can telnet into the box and kill the file that way from the console.

Now I have another problem with this unit.  I'm trying to copy files from the internal HD to a USB HD that is attached to the unit.  The file transfer starts but then always fails after a few minutes.  It happens with any large file I want to copy.

What would cause that?  How to fix?  I think I recall that the internal drive is formatted for use with the product and can't be removed and placed in a separate external USB enclosure, correct?
