It may be the Realtek is at fault. I had a DWA-130 that would connect at 108 Mbps. Replaced it with an Airlink101 dual band N and now I get a consistent 270 Mbps. Never have seen 300 Mbps sustained. That may be due to range. My DIR-615 is upstairs. Airlink101 is downstairs.

Read the forums' sticky noye for 300Mbps speeds. It might be the same problem.
Note: Not all Intel adapters are the same as D-Links' N line. Some Intel adapters do not support the broader 40 Channel Width option. This (by design) limits their connection speed to 130. Check the specifications of your Intel adapter to ensure that it is capable of bonding on the 40Mhz range to achieve the full 300Mbps

I would agree with the previous post on the realtek DWA 130. I had one and, no matter the settings, I could not get more than 108 mbps. I switch back to the A revision, and had no problem to get 300. I noticed that the realtek DWA-130 options are really limited compared to revision A or B.
