Title: What do I chose for Wireless highspeed in setup?
Post by: Herminator on February 03, 2010, 04:14:37 PM
When running the setup cd you are given the choice between DSL or Cable modem or don't know.  I chose don't know because I have Wireless highspeed here.  Get to the end of the setup program and no connectivity either wired or wireless.   Any suggestions.

What do you mean you have wireless highspeed? like FIOS or something? How do you normally connect to the internet if you didn't have the router?

do you have like a wirless GSM adapter or something that you use? if so, then you may have to downgrade your router (if you have upgraded to 1.3x) to 1.2, plug your wireless usb device (if that is what you have) into the usb port, then go to USB configuration and make your changes there to match the connection.

I have a WISP, wireless internet service provider.  Their tower is about 6 miles away and I have a rooftop antenna/radio with ethernet coming from the radio to my router.   I have been using a linksys 160N with this setup for some time.  I decided to "upgrade" routers with hte DIR 655 but have had zero luck getting it to connect to the internet.

I would try Cable as your wireless connection is probably a DHCP one.
