Title: Dell Latitude D610 Problem
Post by: gregras on February 04, 2010, 12:58:45 PM
I am unable to get a wireless connection between my DIR-655 and my Dell Latitude D610 laptop. I have tried different router configurations, have tried using the Intel wireless adapter software and the Windows wireless adapter software. Laptop is running XP sp2. I keep getting a Deauthentication error message in the router log. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can try this :

http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?familyid=662BB74D-E7C1-48D6-95EE-1459234F4483&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?familyid=662BB74D-E7C1-48D6-95EE-1459234F4483&displaylang=en)

I needed in my XP machines to get them to connect with WPA2.

Thanks, I installed it and still have the same problem. It associates the MAC address, then writes this error to the log: Wireless system with MAC address xxxxxxxxxxxx disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication

Do you have sp2 or sp3? Also do you use Windows or the Intel PROSet wireless adapter to connect?

XP SP3, I let Windows Wireless Networking handle all the connections.

Hmmm. I am going to install SP3, I think that may solve it.

Found the problem! Sygate Firewall was the issue. I disabled it ( I don't really need it as I have another firewall ) and it immediately connected. Strange because there were no messages anywhere in any logs indicating this to be an issue.

XP SP3, I let Windows Wireless Networking handle all the connections.

I set all clients static then reserve the IP that way I know I will not have any IP conflicts/disconnects.
