Okay, Ever since ive updated to the latest firmware, i am experiencing a really weird problem.
I lose internet connection... only, and it also only seems to be when i am using uTorrent (have not tried other torrent apps).
Once i lose internet connection, I cannot connect to the 4500 GUI or internet. Everything else networking wise, seems functions.. file sharing, etc.
Once the 4500 is powercycled, it works as normal.
Note #2, once the internet connection is lost, my cable modem LED for PC (router) connection is not lit.
Could there be some sort of bug that turns off the WAN port?
Should i try port forwarding a port specifically for torrenting and see if that resolves?
-
Yes I would try the torrent port forward and see if that helps. Really should not drop the connection. I presume the FW you updated was v1.22NA? What did you have before? I presume any other downloads work well?
-
Actually i was running 1.21
But i will install 1.22 when i get home. :)
-
Hopefully 1.22 does take care of my issue. I was reading the release notes:
2. Fixed DNS relay issue ( WAN slowdown )
(got house party tonight, so i wont be able to test this til tomorrow. 8)

Ya, v1.21 wasn't the great FW. v1.22 has been working great. Have a great weekend.
-
1.22 ftw.
-
So did it fix you problem? ::)
-
I'm having this same exact issue even after updating to v1.22NA.
Any ideas?
-
I haven't had a chance to try uTorrent however I have used BitLord and that works well for me on my v1.22NA A1 router. I downloaded a few things since the FW update. Have not seen any issues as of yet.
-
Any ideas at all? I'm actually able to play games and do whatever perfectly fine with torrents going, but the connection will just randomly shut off completely.

What ISP service do you use? Cable or DSL? Been many issues with both services. Check cablings, remove splitters. Ensure DSL is filtered correctly and ensure that the router is getting a public IP address if possible. Ensure the Primary and 2ndary DNS IP addresses are filled in under Basic/Internet/Manual. I'm not having any disconnects while gaming and others using the network and internet on my v1.22NA unit. I'm cable.

It's not ISP. This problem started happening right after switching routers.

I have had the same thing just start happening to me too. I just assumed it was time warner cable being lame. I use bittorrent as my torrenting program

Hahaha !!!! Posted similar findings as well with just Utorrent app. Believe it's default settings for seeding is set to Unlimited, you need to change it to a lower KB/s settings in order to fix that little issue. Bitcomet did work out of the box with default settings just fine, no issues with bitcomet.
