Title: rdp portforwarding on dfl260
Post by: barasnon on February 09, 2010, 06:07:02 AM
hi I'm a newbie to firewall setup

I have a dfl260, behind this my windows server 2003 .
I want access the server through remote desktop connection (RDP), using internet outside,

the IP setting is this:
192.168.1.2 / 255.255.255.0  -server ip
192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0 - firewall IP

from WAN port I connect my cable from the other server
where my internet is connected:
if I connect this IP directly to the computer to test the internet, the connection is okay.
192.168.55.30
255.255.255.224/27
192.168.55.50 -Gateway
192.168. 55.2-dns 1
192.168.55.5- dns 2

Please help me to setup this firewall I am not very familiar to portwarding..

thank you for all your help

regards..

The FAQ for a simple port forward is here.

That said I would avoid this layout as you are double NAT'ing the servers behind the DFL.  It would be preferable if you could put all your servers behind the DFL (say on the DMZ interface) and had your internet connection come directly to the WAN port of the DFL.
