I had lots of issues with 1.3 firmware, my 343 froze and had to be powered off, I finally downgraded after seeing the thread here indicating that the 1.3 firmware was the cause.
The flash never said that the process complete, I waited over night, still not done so I had to restart and I got into a endless reboot cycle.
I have removed all disks, pressed the reset button, shaken the box, restarted it upside down and prayed to the magic powers, no success.
Is there anyway to reinstall firmware using the USB drive and a magic file name?
anyway to unbrick??
Any help appreciated, I can not find any good threads here, but maybe I do not know what search terms to use.
Thanks a lot!

I don't know about unbricking, but I would stay away from the 1.2a firmware.
I downgraded in the hopes it would be more stable, and needed support for 1.5 drives (so vanilla 1.2 wouldn't work).
A day or two later I lost raid 5 volume.

Your only options to boot the device are to power it on and try resetting the unit. If the unit crashed while updating the firmware and will not boot now it looks like its dead unless a reset recovers it. It may have partially or loaded or bugged code, if so it wont boot and the device needs to be booted to reload any firmware.
