I was going along fine, when all of a sudden, I lost my connection. I can't connect to it again, and it does not even appear on the availale networks. When I hook to it via ethernet, it works as it should. I did notice it was on channel 3, then channel 2. I changed it to stay on channel 6. Did it die? Is there a way to get it back?
I would like to know because I have a 628 comming, and would like to sell this one. I've only had it for three weeks.
thanks,
Jim.

Here it is two days later, and still unable to connect. I'm hesitant to toss a new router into the trash without trying everything to get it back. I'm out of ideas.
I have pushed and held the reset button for 30 seconds with the power on, and power off 5 times, but it will not reset. The SSID, and password, and user name I originally set it up with remain unchanged. The only thing that is changing is the channel it's broadcasting on.
I really need some help here....
Thanks,
Jim.

You could try restoring the factory defaults (on the System menu item on the Tools tab). You would then have to re-enter all your personal settings, though.

I don't care about the settings so long as I know that I can sell it. My 628 Came in today, and tomorrow, I'll see about getting the 615 ready to sell, and installing the 628.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jim.

If you can't even reset the router maybe it is faulty. I guess there is some kind of warranty?

try re-flashing the FW.

Was constantly happening to my DIR-615 B1 unit. No matter which firmware, wireless signal disappeared from my area even though router stated it as "active."
DIR-628 is a little better. Turn Off "DNS Relay," "Advanced DNS," "SecureSpot," and do not use Dynamic DNS.

I had something a bit like this, the wireless just suddenly cut out one day.
After much experimentation, I finally fixed it by going into the "Manual Wireless Network Setup" option on the router, and changing the Channel Width from "20MHz" to "Auto 20/40MHz". I've no idea why it was set to that, or why changing it fixed the problem, but it did.

Hey
Did anyone try new firmware? I installed new firmware 2 weeks. Now, I have no problem with lost wireless connectivity. Try it.
