Title: No sound on AVI files
Post by: Emman on February 15, 2010, 05:04:03 PM
Hi,

If I play and AVI file on my computer it works perfect but if I play the file directyly to DSM 750 through USB port, it does play the movie but no sound. Can someone else tell me what's wrong?

Thanks.  ???

Can you provide some details on your AVI file?

Hi ECF,

Mostly of my AVI files are either DIVX or XVID.

Cheers :)

Can you provide the audio properties of the files? Did you create these yourself and what software was used?

Also do you get audio from mp3's or other video files?

use a freeware called mediainfo and post the result of the file...it will help ECF a lot more  :)

ECF actually wants to know what audio codec the file has after the conversion? search for a program called GSpot and open the file in that, it will tell you what audio codec the file is using.

Please check the audio codec using either of the two programs mentioned and let me know if the audio is VBR or CBR listed next to the audio codec.
