Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit
DIR-655 A2 F/W 1.33NA
DWA-160 A1 F/W 1.40
ok im trying to achieve the 300mbps. i set my channel width to auto 20/40MHZ.
i set my 802.11 Mode to Mixed 802.11n and 802.11g.
when i do so my computer looses the connection every 2 or 3 minutes non stop.
now when i set my channel width back to 20Mhz and my 802.11 Mode to 802.11n,802.11g,802.11b i dont get not a single disconnect.

distance from client to router >10 meters (3 yards) with walls?
-
maybe 20-25 ft. but when i switch to 20/40 aes and the other settingg according to the tutorial my connection will report the 300mbps but it will drop for a minute or 2 work fine for a few minutes and keep doing the same over and over

so this is about disconnects not the 300Mbps
because if you following it perfectly your not mixing n/g modes....N only

Hi,
I would suggest you try a different .11N wireless adapter and see if that one drops the link like your DWA is doing.
Certain adapters with certain drivers are not stable while the same physical adapter with a newer or maybe even an older driver will be very stable.... I have had to use Atheros Drivers with my DLink PCI xtreme N adapter (I forget the model ??) cause the DLink provided drivers simply would not stay connected...finally Dlink, after a year or so released an updated driver that works for me....
Just a thought...
