Title: Orange lights on DNS-323 after installing Twonky Media Server 5.1
Post by: dartman on February 16, 2010, 05:46:44 AM
I recently install TMS 5.1 on my DNS-323 and I've got orange lights.

System is still indexing files (I have over 30.000 songs), so maybe when finish lights stop be orange blinking...?>

Streaming works but I can't access DNS-323 disks from LAN. I can access through WEB interface both Twonky and DNS configuration pages.

Has anyone faced somethings similar?

Thanks,

The orange lights would bother me, I've never seen anything but blue lights on mine.

It's definitely TMS fault. When I entered DNS setup, there are no users, network access rights, system info shows crazy information.

When I removed TMS everything is OK

This is a known issue with TMS 5.x.  You cannot simply install 5.x on your DNS-323 and have it run properly.  You will need to modify a couple of files after the install and before it is running.  Check out the twonky forums for info on this.  I have tried the 5.x releases and to be honest I have always gone back to 4.4.18 which works the best and is the most reliable.
