Title: Wireless unstable since latest firmware update- anyone else?
Post by: funnylikehaha on February 16, 2010, 07:00:45 PM
My wireless internet connection has become unstable in terms of speed, ever since the firmware update.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I upgraded the newest firmware 1.22NA 2/08/2010 released, after that my router has rebooted or changed internet WAN connection to offline, I have shut off DNS  Relay, WISH and QoS from 24 hours seem to be OK.

Had to disable QoS, WISH, pretty much everything that involves some type of bandwidth control and things seem to be a bit better.  I just can't use any of these types of options though without terrible performance.

What's the signal and speed shown in the router's status page ?
What's the distance between client and router ? Any walls, etc. ?
Are you using 2.4 or 5 GHz wireless ?

Running the latest 1.22 here and no problems with speed. Getting up to 16MB/s in a short distance.
Through one wall and 10 m still getting 9-10 MB/s. (2.4 GHz)
5 Ghz is only good in the same room.

QoS and WISH is disabled as not needed, WMM has to be enabled in the router and client to receive higher transfer rates.
