I have my DNS-323 as a mapped drive on my main PC. Win7 on it and other PC's. From the other PC's I only see the DNS-323 as a "Folder Shortcut" under "Network Location" which just takes me to the DNS-323's login page. In my main PC it shows up as "Volume_1 (\\dlink-0A7821) (X:) as well as the Folder Shortcut.
I have looked at folder sharing permissions and it looks OK. Am I missing something?

Are all the PCs in the same Workgroup?

in case any of your computers is a part of domain you should use IP address for network location. if not see previous post :)

I often have computers that are not in my workgroup and can access my DNS but I have to type in \\DNS323\ and than wait a bit for a list of shares to appear, once the list is generated accessing the DNS is just a fast as being on the same workgroup. This is of cause having open shares using v1.04 firmware but this shouldn't change anything if your using open shares.
I have also have work computers that are members of a domain work just the same.

Are your other PC's also running Windows 7? I found that to access the drive from my other computers I had to download and manually install the drivers for the 323. Double clicking on the Dlink icon in Network will not access the drive, it will only take you to the log in screen. Download version 1.02 of the driver software from Dlink support. Open your device manager on your computer and you should see an error indicating that a device driver has not been properly installed for the device. Double click on the icon and go to the Driver tab. Choose updgrade driver and direct it to the driver folder you downloaded from Dlink. Your computer should now recognize the device and you should have no problem mapping it to your computer. You have to do this process for each computer you have or at least I did. Good luck.

This can be a master browser issue, and you might just have to have patience. It can take a workgroup network 15-20 minutes to get it's act together in an extreme case when you add or remove machines from the workgroup. This is why some folks like to have a WINS server running.
A work-around for the delay is to have static IP addresses on your NAS (which is a good idea anyway) and put an entry in your HOSTS file for the NAS. This will result in instant name resolution in all cases.

Medicguy: Thanks for the info. That did the trick. My PC's are all Win7, btw.
