I have just purchased a DIR-655 A4. The firmware that is currently installed is 1.32NA. If I check for updates from the routers interface, I am told that it is up to date. I downloaded 1.33NA from the d-link website and tried to upload it manually to the router but I am being told that it's not the right firmware.
Am I missing something?

hi,
did you unzip the download to get to the .bin file? When you update the router, you need to use the .bin file....not the zip.
Just a thought.

Try downloading again. Perhaps the file was corrupted.
Note: never upgrade through Wifi, always use a wired connection....
-
yes I tried uploading the .bin directly, twice through a wired connection to no avail. What I don't understand is why it tells me its up to date when I try an automatic update too.

Did you use Internet Explorer for the update ?
Other Browsers may sometimes cause this strange behavior.
-
I took your suggestion and tried updating using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox and I get the same result.
This is what is there right now:
Firmware Information
Current Firmware Version : 1.32NA
Current Firmware Date : 2009/07/09
Another thing i noticed is that the release date of my 1.32NA firmware doesn't match the official one on the dlink website. I'm really confused.
I'm wondering if maybe this is a beta firmware or something and if I should try flashing with the 1.32NA on the dlink website.

So I went ahead and tried uploading the 1.32NA firmware from the dlink website and still am not able to do so.
Does anybody please have a suggestion as to what could be the reasoning behind not being able to do so. Its making it seem like its not really a DIR-655 when I know it is.

I finally somehow managed to get the new firmware uploaded after many tries...thanks anyways for the help :)
