Title: Wireless DHCP renewal issues
Post by: leo983 on February 22, 2010, 04:44:36 PM
I have a DIR 615 rev C1 running updated firmware 3.11NA

The device works fine wired including DHCP renewals

The device works fine wireless including initial DHCP setup but over time fails to renew DHCP addresses and a device that connected fine yesterday won't today.

Setting the wireless devices to static IPs such as 192.168.0.50 / 255.255.255.0 with a DNS of 192.168.0.1 works fine.

All of this leads me to believe there is a wireless specific DHCP renewal issue. I don't have any logs because we have all the devices set to static and it took a couple of days to get access to the forum.

Any help is appreciated

I am having the same issue, but it also happens from time to time with a wired connection.

Look back at your logs after this happens and see what the router did to the client. It will list an action along with a reason code. The reason codes are listed here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/3.2/configuration/guide/c32err.html

I continuously get reason codes 3 and 8, and neither makes any sense.
