Title: DWA-552 + DIR-655 WPS no detection
Post by: mikeescott69 on February 22, 2010, 10:30:26 PM
I have had my DIR-655 for about a year now and it has been great. I just bought the DWA-552 to put in my server to pair them with less wires. The 552 is not detecting any networks and cannot even find the 655 that is about 2 feet from it. My laptop in the same room can detect 3 strong signals and 4 other weaker ones. Why is the 552 not detecting anything? I have downloaded the latest drivers. I am running Windows XP Home SP3.

Hi mikeescott69,

Are you broadcasting the SSID Signal Name from the Router?

Server? Is Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 considered to be a Server like Windows Home Server?

Have you disabled the Network Filter on the Router?

Sorry for not replying sooner. I have been in the hospital for a week after a bike wreck.

***not sure, how is this done?***

***it is the only desktop in my house and everything is connected to it on used by the other mobile and laptop devices.***

Have you disabled the Network Filter on the Router?
***no, have not been able to do anything to it yet.***

Hi mikeescott69,

Run the D-Link Setup Wizard CD. It will help you setup the DIR-655 Router. Do it from a Computer that is wired to the Router. And it will explain things to you and how to do it.
