Wireless problems.....Please help

I have latest firmware 1.33NA

My wireless always seems to go VERY slow after some time of internet, then the router has to be restarted in order to get the connection and speed back.

Can someone tell me whats wrong?

Also how can I increase the wireless range of the router so I get better signal even if I am farther away from the router.

Thanks.

Hi,

Can you describe what your wireless settings are as of now ?  Also, have you read thru the stickie about 300 Mbps speeds ?

I have the default wireless settings.

I am getting:

Rate (Mbps): 26
Signal: 32%

I have not tried the 300mbps, what difference will that make?

Problem is the signal strength.
This makes the router downgrade the speed to lower ranges to prevent more transmission errors.

So first make sure the signals are above .eg. 60%, the higher the better of coarse.

How can I make the signal stronger within the router or settings? I cannot move the router but it is not that far away from me, there is about half a wall in between.

depends on the construction of the wall. If it is full with metal, getting signals through will be more difficult.

Check if all the antennas are mounted tight and are upright (vertical).

Check in wireless setup the current output level. Should be "high"

Even sitting right in front of router, it reports no more than 80% signal.....where it should report close to 100%....

So what is wrong?
