Hi
the Australian site only has a 1.08b5 for download - I assume that is a beta?
Should i just grab the American one?
Is it a definite worthwhile UG to 1.08 from 1.06. At the moment, it works, I can transfer my moves from it to my PS3. It ain't broke... do I fix it?

I'd wait for the official download. As you say, it's not broken, what's the rush? ;)

Just get the US release, just get the right hardware revision for your box.
I'm not sure why they even have different region firmware - it surely wastes money and support time by having it this way.

Hi Keiron,
As far as I know the "b" in the firmware is the build number. I have noticed in the past that some of the firmware gives the build number and some don't even if it is the same firmware. I think not putting it in may reduce confusion for some??
As far as different firmware for different regions it is more applicable to wireless products I would imagine as they would need to comply with local variations in regulations. Another local variation would be firmware for 3G routers to contend with local service providers.

The "b" in the numbers are for beta versions.

The Australian Site has 1.08B9 as from yesterday. I actually downloaded the US firmware though and it installed fine.
