Title: Issue with DNS 321

I have been using my DNS 321 for over a year now. It has 2 drives and worked perfectly until yesterday. I had a power outage and it brought down my DNS 321. Now when i power it on, i can access the drives for 10-15 mins and then they go offline, and come online again in 10-15 mins. I ran disk check via Disk diagnostics and drives looks to be fine. This morning i tried to reboot the device and now it comes up but cant reach it over network. No response to ping.

Has anyone seen such issues.

In worst case , how can i get data off my disks ?

I understand that if the disks are not in a raid you can just connect then using a usb enclosure or sata-to-usb2 cable or a dock

Your OS may need a driver to read ext2 or ext3 (whichever you chose when you formatted the HDs). Or you can boot from a linux live cd or flash drive.

If you are using raid.. not sure, but somebody else may comment on that.

How is your DNS-323 attached to your network? Is it going to a router, switch?

Have you tried a direct connection to your pc to see if it sustains a connection with a static address? If you can keep a stable connection directly attached then it may not be your NAS.

You might want to make sure it's not your router if you have it connected through one.  I had a power outage awhile back and I had one computer that would stop connecting to the internet after a few hours.  I couldn't figure it out until I got a new router.  Ended up that it semi-fried the router.  It still worked but only for a bit and it was only one port.  Just a suggestion since that's easier to replace than a NAS
