Will i lose data on my 2 volumes if i reset the DNS321 device ?
-
The official D-Link answer is no, and I've reset both the DNS-321 and DNS-323 with no data loss.
Of course, you should have a backup of any data on the unit anyway...
-
Just to confirm, reset is done by pressing reset switch while unit is powered on. From your experience, will it keep the volumes as it is ? I am thinking i will need to go the the initial setup wizard again after reset. Please advice.
-
Yep, it's never done anything to my data.
-
Mate,
Thanks for your advise, i have fixed my dns and data was not lost either.
-
Now we have a sample of two. :D

BTW, have u noticed similar issues with your device, where if the device loses power while in use, its settings get screwed up. I think its not a good idea if this keeps happening.....gonna get a ups soon and avoid this hassle as well
-
I haven't seen that, but I already have a UPS on all the computers and NAS boxes. Normally, I'll come up and power things down normally if we lose power before it would drop.
