Title: Does anyone own a DNS-321 Hardware Ver C1?
Post by: Ronnie on March 05, 2010, 04:59:33 AM
Hi,

I have just purchased a 321 NAS and have learned that the auto power up after powel loss is only available on HW Vewrsion C1 and later...  The unit that I just purchased this week from NewEgg is HW Ver A2. It sounds like C1 may not be available yet? The release notes were written in October, so I would assume that these are in production somewhere?

Are you sure it requires HW C1?  I think it is a new firmware option.  I also have HW A2 and after upgrading to Firmware 1.03 there was an option to set auto power up.  (See link to new firmware on page 5 of the sticky posting).  I did not enable it as I do not want that behavior so I can not confirm that it works.

OK I stand corrected, I do not see where/how to enable this in the Admin screens running HW Ver A2, Firmware 1.03.   I thought I saw it somewhere, perhaps when running the setup wizard or when the HD was initially installed and formatted.  Or maybe I simply saw it in the setup documentation.  Since I did not want to enable the option, I did not make a mental note of it.  Sorry for the noise.

D-Link stated it was only enabled in the later hardware somewhere in these threads.

Even though it shows up as a checkbox under 1.03 it does not work until HW: C1 according to DLink
