Hello
I'm having a huge problem with my shareport functionality on my DLG-4500. It was working fine before on my win7 x64 PC, then I installed shareport on my laptop to access the Epson Stylus CX8400 multifunction printer that was hooked to the router's USB. The first time i went to request access from my desktop to my laptop for the printer, shareport froze on both ends, when the little tray pop-up comes up for requesting access. I then uninstalled shareport from my laptop, and restarted it. Immediately after rebooting my desktop, which was originally handling it and printing fine, shareport connects to and disconnects from the printer every 10 or so seconds. I reinstalled it, rebooted, in all kinds of sequences, but the same problem keep happening. Running firmware 1.22NA - please help.

I'm having the same problem. Constant connect and disconnect every few seconds. It was working fine yesterday but today it won't stay connected. I'm running Windows 7 x64 on a desktop. Seems like this is a common problem.

I have the same problem with my DIR-655. Have several WIN7 64 & XP systems and all get locked out or do the reconnect thing. I tried the reinstall, etc. and the only solution that works for me is to reboot the router. Anything in the printer queue will start printing

Dir 625RevC, same probelm, but not with all devices. USB HDD seems to work very solidly(no constant disconects), but when I plug D-link dsl 200C USB modem into the routher's usb to get internet connection, it behaves really strangely, with constant disconnects and freezes. Ah, and tried on both Windows 7 64bit, and Windows 7 32bit.

I only have this issue when i connect my maxtor USB device that has back up button on it. when i switched out the case for a much simpler usb case, this issue stopped from happening.

I have exactly the same problem. I could add that after rebooting a router shareport works few hours and again connects to and disconnects.

How is it everyone is having the same problem and we can get a fix? My DGL-4500 is the best router I've owned and would love to keep saying so. Seems to me that D-Link would be working on a fix? Has anyone asked for help?
Please help

Having the same problem with Windows 7 Professional 64bit and the DIR-655 router. The device is a Dell V305 printer/scanner. DIR-655 firmware is 1.33NA.
I try to click connect to device, and it waits for a long time. After 60 seconds or so, it says connected even though it doesn't work. Then SharePort reports that the device "did not disconnect properly" and proceeds to reconnect to it. This cycle continues forever, without ever being able to use the printer.
EDIT: I was only able to properly connect and use the printer after rebooting the DIR-655. Spose I'll just do this very time I need to print.

Hi,
In the DIR-655 support area, some folks mentioned to disable IPv6 client in adapter settings. In that IPv6 can flake out the router if its not fully IPv6 compliant....
