We have recently installed this product, and it is generally working as expected. We have come across two issues:
1. Error when saving video
We are receiving the error 'Fail to encode video frame' whenever we try to export a large portion of video (we can successfully export 10-20 minutes, but upwards of 1 hour is displaying this message) but only when the Export Audio box is checked. This is happening under any of the ASF recording formats. If we choose AVI then it exports the audio in real time and the video at about 10x speed.
2. Backup
When using the backup function, the file that gets saved is a .dat, but it's not indicated how to use this file to view the backup up data. Also, there does not appear to be an ability to schedule this device to perform a cross network backup to some other storage media for quick reference and long term storage.
I was wondering if these issues were known or addressed anywhere.
Cheers,
Tanis

Just an update regarding my original post:
The export failing with the error appears to be a faulty unit (we have tested download from another DNS-726-4 and it can export large durations without issue) & we have been in contact with DLink who are sending out a replacement unit.
The AVI export issue is caused by the system defaulting the frame rate to 30fps regardless of actual frame rate. We are currently trying to rectify this by using a third party program (VirtualDub) to realign the audio and video, but with minimal success so far.
Still waiting to hear back about bulk import / export options.

Are you referring to auto backup setup to an FTP under under SETUP?
I will have to test out the export video and get back to you.
