Title: Renaming Volume_1 Icon
Post by: Clayton on March 09, 2010, 10:35:30 PM
Under the DNS-323 (which I have renamed) in Network, is there a way I can rename the Volume_1 folder and hide the web_page and lp icons from showing up over the network and local computer?

There are a few ways, though none officially supported by D-Link I'm sure (and I don't know if I should even say what they are here).

One way that may or may not work (and by "not work", I mean you could brick the NAS) is to do a configuration export and then manually edit the file (it's plain text)... you'll need to know what to edit and obviously make sure you're saving the file in the right format (unix newlines, etc...) and then upload the modified config file and hope it works (I have not tried this ever).  Another way is by using fun_plug - but I won't discuss that any further on this forum.
