I have an office that is over the garage vs in the house. Its well away from the side of the house that most people use the existing internet. I am moving the incoming cable modem to the office and already have a cable running to the other side of the house (connected to a switch). I want to use the DIR-615 as a wireless for users inside the house and I'll use the DIR-655 as my primary router in the office. I have a d-link switch (5 port) that I'll connect the DIR-615 to in the house.
How should I set up the IP, DHCP, and any other settings on the DIR-615 to run on the switch behind the DIR-655? I have some Vonage LinkSys routers that I chained where I modified the IP addresses and turned off the DHCP. Should I do the same for the DIR-615?
Thanks for any help.

hmm not sure if the dir-615 has a bridge mode, so you might have to go with what you were thinking about disabling lan side dhcp etc. If the connection to your dir-655 is secure, like a physical ethernet connection then you can also disable the firewall, and maybe NAT though I dont see many options there so there might not be a "proper" way to do this. You would have to experiment for what works best for you, with stuff like DMZs and such. The dir-615 appears to be just a gateway, and not really designed (firmware wise) for pre-gateway routing. If you really need this then you would be looking at using dd-wrt or openwrt. Then you will be able to bridge wired or wireless. The worst case scenario if you just connect the dir-615 to your dir-655 and not change anything is having a double NAT that could affect voip.

Thanks for the reply. There is a conversation here http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=11584.0 for setting up as an access point. I think I'll have enough info to do some setup and testing. We'll see how it works out. The 615 was recommended by a tech friend. Should have given this a little more thought when I bought it.
