Title: Please verify: DNS-321 and UPnP, WMA files do not work together?
Post by: mgs316 on March 10, 2010, 07:41:23 PM
My wd live tv HD media player cannot see my .wma files.  At first I thought it might be my directory structure but as I will show below, it can see my .mp3 files in the same structure.

Current directory example:

Drive letter :\root directory\Artist\Album\song.wma

Example 1 - M:\Music\Van Halen\1984\hotforteacher.wma

Example 2 - M:\Music\Top 40 Hits 1949 - 2000\1960\johndenver.mp3

I can see the files in example 2, but cannot see the files in example 1.

Most of these are 126kbps or 192pbps rips, no lossless, etc.

Am I doing something wrong or can the UPnP not see WMA files created by the biggest company in the world?

Can't talk to a music file but I have a WMA video file that is no problem at all for my WD Live.

It's not the WD TV Live that is having the issues, it's that the DLink Upnp does not see the .wma files.

I can manually go search the network folders via the WD TV Live and play .wma songs but when I use the Media Server mode it does not see them.
