Title: High Gain Antenna

I'm using DIR-615 router. It comes with two detachable antennas. Can i change one with third party high gain antenna while the other one remain intact? will cause anything harm to the router itself ?

this would depend on if the dir-615 is MIMO, MIMO will use both antennas to get the most thoroughput. Non MIMO will just use the antenna getting the best reception.

how can i know my DIR-615 is MIMO or Non-MIMO ?

yes. Mine is that model. Non MIMO. So my  question is, can i just change one (not both antenna) wih high gain antenna? will this causing any harmful effects to my rounter if i just change one only?

I have a DIR-615 and put two 7dbi antenas and it works fine.

HIYA, just wanted to clarify. I looked at the latest 802.11n draft and it includes MIMO, but I do not know if the dir-615 meets the most recent draft. So just to be safe you can do as "genesis" says and replace both antennas or if you change one antenna, you will have to configure the router to 802.11b/g mode.

All the high gain antenna I see appear to be for b/g networks with no mention of n networks. Do these exist for n networks?
