Title: mediagui application intialization error
Post by: mhumphri on February 13, 2008, 08:37:54 AM
This morning I found my desktop had been rebooted due to a windows xp update. There was an error message on the screen MEDIAGUI.EXE application initialization error x800003.  If I click on the dlink media server I get this message also.

The day before yesterday I used Media Player 11 to share my media.  Did this cause the problem? Are you suppose to use either the dlink media server or media player 11?  Which is better.

Either media server can be used I cannot say either one is better they both have a few different options. This device can be used with many other media server available like TVersity and Twonkyvision as you will find each one  has its own feature.

Please uninstall your Dlink Media Server software and delete the folder “Mediaserverdump” located in you C:/Windows/system32 folder.

Download the 1.08 Media Sever Software from out support website and install. If you use 1.09 you may have experience the GUI crash issue. We will be releasing a new version of the Dlink media server software. If you are still having this problem I would recommend using Windows Media player 11 for you media server for the time being.
