I noticed the same thing on my DCS-920's. Could be by design... I do know that they can sync on NTP Time-service if they are open to the internet... Mostly the time recorded is by the recording App (DViewCam) or Mail-program... Sorry.

Hi,

I noticed the same problem with DCS-2121 date/time reset to 1/1/2009 after each reset e.g. caused by a power failure.
Despite NTP is set in the configuration, it does not seem to retrieve the right date event after 2 days.

This is really annoying as I wanted to base my application only on the snapshot feature without external server which could use its own date to timestamp pictures ...

model : DCS-2121
firmware : 1.04

I noticed the same problem on my DCS-1100s and the DCS-1300.

The solution that worked for me was to add the second DNS entry on the Network screen.  I had only one.  It appears to be a unique requirement in the software.
