Hardware version A3 running 1.21 firmware.
Unable to run WPA and MAC address filtering simultaneously - computer sees the router but never succeeds in connecting.
I used to have used these features together running on firmware 1.10.
Dlink tech support unable to resolve.
Any suggestions?

With MAC address filtering off, computer connects with WPA. Connection then proceeds to drop and reconnect regularly.
With WPA off and MAC address fiiltering on - no problems.
Totally reloaded wireless software stack on the laptop. Did not re-install Windows XP.
Anyone else see problems with WPA and MAC filtering?
Any ideas?

Apparently, I was the victim of the "wireless restart".
I recently put a Windows 7 machine (hardwired) on my network. Windows 7 uses IPv6 which confuses the router and causes it to restart the wireless connections often - thus the dropped connections seen on the laptop. The evidence of the wireless restarts is seen in the router log file.
I turned off IPv6 on Windows 7 and the problem seems to be gone.
Thanks to forums and posts and people like you, as neither the Dlink support team (called three times) and the laptop support team had any idea about how to diagnose or solve this.

Thank You for that information Re: Windows 7 IP version 6 and how that router has issues. I wonder if higher versions of the firmware would fix this? In any case, I have noted this little eccentricity down in my black book of technical notes.
