Title: DGL-4500 Emitting a Constant High Pitch Noise.....HELP!!!

Recently my DGL-4500 Started emitting a high pitch whine, it has progressively gotten worse over the past couple of weeks. I have Taken the router to a friends house, and to work to see if its something in my house causing it but all signs point to the router. Nothing seems to have any effect on it the only way to make it stop is to unplug it. All of the routers functions work normally. I have only had this product about 3 months and love it but something has to give on this noise it is driving myself, my wife, and my dog KRAZY.. Thanks in advance for any help you guys have to offer.

If the router is making noises with and without any cables connected then I would call DLink and get an RMA. I have seen this once before on here that someone had a noisy router and was able to get support from DLink. The noises are not typical of the router and should have silent operation. Let us know how this turns out.

Thanks for the quick response FN i have e-mailed dlink tech support. Right before i found this forum so we will see how that goes and I will definitely let you guys know.

Im still waiting on a response back from my e-mail to d-link, How long does it usually take? ANyone know?

Not sure about email I would call them directly for a quicker response. I'm waiting on a email from Acer for a PC im working on, not expecting any results but still, I have to try. CS is never been great for most companies, one thing that always puzzled me. Call and see if you can get a quicker response. Let us know.  ;)

There is a simple reason for that. Customer service doesn't directly earn or save a company money. So most try to go for the cheapest support they can buy. You take that and the reality that the vast majority of all callers into a support line are the less then informed types, it creates a cold jagged shell around all the employees. Customer service is a dieing art. I know...I know all too well.
