Title: D-Link TM-G5240 T-Mobile Wireless Router with cable modem?
Post by: cable modem on March 23, 2010, 02:35:24 PM
Can I use the D-Link TM-G5240 T-Mobile Wireless Router with with my MOTOROLA cable modem to connect my notebook computers to the Internet?

Or is this router only for T-Mobile devices and services?

I want to buy a inexpensive wireless (used) router. Currently I use an old D-Link Ethernet broadband router.

So please give me info if this device fits for my applications.

I have been successfully using the DI524 with a cable modem (Don't remember the brand). The T-Mobile router worked fine for carrying WiFi enabled phones as well as 2 wireless laptops and 2 LAN connected PCs one of which was running Linux. Your system should work OK.
Unfortunately I just changed ISPs and Verizon uses a combo cable modem/router and I can't get my TM-G5240 to get Internet access even though the Verizon box sees it.
Hope this helps.
