Title: Can't Access DNS-323 After Power Failure
Post by: ActionFreak on March 24, 2010, 03:31:02 PM
The power went off and on a few times yesterday and I can't get to my DNS-323. My router does not show a DHCP entry for the DNS-323 or any unknown devices. There is still some hard drive activity going on. What else can I do before deciding that the DNS-323 is bad?

Are the lights working on the front panel? I had to manually turn the dns-323 back on by pressing the front power button after a power failure.

Yes. It all looks normal. There is hard drive activity when I first turn it on. I have also restarted the router and switched to another port on the router.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago

I run several DNS-323s and one "disappeared" from my network after a series of power cuts

It had lost it's static IP address and a few other settings like drive mapping

I used the Easysearch utility to locate it again and re-entered the IP settings manually and now it is working fine again

Easy Search Utility worked. Thanks. It had an address from similar to my WAN address so I just gave it an address on my LAN.
