Title: WBR2310 - Router
Post by: Jay_21 on March 25, 2010, 05:18:37 AM
Hello Forum,

This is Jay. I have a D-link WBR 2310 Router. Upgrade firrmware 1.04 failed. Firmware file could not get uploaded to the router. Upgrade did not finish. So now my router has 6 green lights that stay ON for ever. Router doesn't reset at all. I tried holding reset switch 2 minutes , 10 minutes, with power on , without power but router will not reset.
Could someone from the forum please let me know the procedure to fix the firmware upgrade. Appreciate your reply. Thanks, Jay

Could you do chris' hard 30-30-30 reset? It seems to clear your NVRAM. You might then be able to reload the version of Firmware you would have liked.

This is what chris says:
Quote
1. when the unit is powered on, hold down its reset button for 30 seconds
2. while still holding down the reset button, unplug the router from power and hold for an additional 30 seconds
3. still holding down the reset button, turn on power to the router again and hold for 30 more seconds

thats it. After doing that I end up power cycling the router a final time. (I picked this up from all of my dd-wrt flashing experience.)

Thanks, I tried it, but no change. I still get 6 green lights and they stay ON for ever.

Can you get into the web-interface of the Router? You might be able to reboot from there. If not, then it looks like the router might be toast. I works very well as a coaster, mind you...  ;)
