This is becoming very frustrating that port forwarding doesn't work so when I change over to virtual server it drops out everyday and requires a reboot to work. How frustrating is that!!!! I wish I could say it's the firmware and update, but the new firm doesn't look any better. About ready to plug my DIR-615 back up and make the 655 a expensive coaster.

You are preaching to the choir.

Yeah I know just wanted to rant alittle. It's so frustrating really. I guess someone is reading just not the right people.

This board is no 'helpdesk by Dlink'. It's 'users help users'. Dlink is only facilitating by providing the platform.
You can call the support desk or email them. Info to be found on Dlink.com.

I suppose if any of the users could write firmware, we would help ourselves.
Are you one of the D-Link tech support people Eddie? I see you have a whopping 2000-plus posts, so I'm just drawing a conclusion that you must work for D-Link in some capacity.

I did e-mail them but have not got a reply yet. I wish they would post how to fix this problem.
also could besecure have blocked my movie downloads from amazon to my tivo? 2 movies i rented never showed up

do make sure you have uninstalled the bsecure client on each pc you may have installed it on if you ever used the securspot feature.
I have seen it show up on a couple of my pc's here from back in its beta test days a couple years ago...I was sure I had uninstalled the bsecure client...but it apparently left residuals someplace.

And I really wish you weren't on it. What do you do apart from say "my router's fine" and tell everyone that there is nothing wrong? I think you must get something out of annoying people in this way, since it is so obvious there is a problem, yet you consistantly put forward a nonsensicle view, based on the logic that your router works and thus everyone else's must also. The very fact that those of us able to downgrade now have no problems must indicate that there are problems with the recent (last year or so) firmware.
I think you are actually a Dlink stooge and not a real user. Either that or you get a kick out of winding people up in forums.

Interesting. I brought this up in a roundabout way in another topic and got nothing from this Eddie character. He's actually in a ''Catch-22'' now by being called out because he's darned if he is a D-Link ''stooge'' and he's darned if he's not. Worse yet, if he's not part of the D-Link disinformation machine, with 2100-plus posts, how the heck does he spend his days? Trolling an obscure forum looking for a fight to get attention?
Eddie, you need to get a life my man.

He has that many posts because he has to respond to all you idiots who say the EXACT SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER. Unless you can prove that he works for dlink be quiet. He is allowed to post just as much as you are. You can always IGNORE the posts. Atleast he tries to help some people sometimes. That is more than dlink does for some. Count him blessed that he has a working router and you do not. Heck I have a working router because i never updated the firmware. 1.11 for me forever. This router is getting pretty old and there are better alternatives out there nowadays. A 100 dollar router does not last forever. If you need more bittorent connections consider purchasing business class products. If you need help from dlink just email or call them. I am getting sick of some of these posts people are posting with the same thing over and over. Can barley read any thread without seeing it.

So...if you have a working router...one that has worked perfectly...why are you here then? Yeah....
